About National Fire Savers Credit Union
First established in 1998, the National Fire Savers Credit Union was formed as a credit union for London Fire Brigade staff.
What sets us apart is that we offer low interest rates on small short-term loans. Other traditional lenders and banks often have very high interest rates on smaller loans. But we are different and have the best interest of our members at heart.

No hidden additional fees
Members of our credit union are not charged arrangement fees for any of our personal loans and there are also no penalties for early repayment. Repaying early actually saves you money. As we want to see you in a favourable financial position, why would we charge you early repayment fees? It is not uncommon for other lenders to charge borrowers early settlement penalties.

We care for all our members!
In order to apply for our loans, we require you to register as a member. Previous members of the credit union with accounts that are now closed should contact the office or go online in order to reactivate their account. You are required to be aged 18 or over to join the National Fire Savers Credit Union.
We do not perform credit checks
Although it is not our standard policy to conduct credit checks, the credit committee reserve the right to request a credit check. This will depend on the member's specific circumstances and is not the standard process with all members.
Same day funding
As we consider new loan application on a daily basis, there is potential for the funds to be transferred on the same day. Should you already have a loan with us, we require that you wait a few days from applying for the loan to approval and fund transfer. The quick loans we offer are subject to the loan policy in place at the time of your application.
Some loans need security
Depending on the specific policies in place of the time of applying for a loan, we may attach your savings as security against the loan until the loan is repaid. The amount of shares that must remain in the credit union is also dependent on the loan policy in place at the time. As we have mentioned, our loan policy is subject to change at any time.
